Global Youth Challenge 2024 Live Final Presentation

The Global Youth Challenge 2024 (GYC2024) marks the fifth year of operation for this prestigious not-for-profit organization. Initiated by The Erindale Academy and now supported by numerous educational institutions worldwide, GYC2024 continues to serve as a platform for young individuals aged 13-18 across the globe to showcase their talents and perspectives on critical issues. With a focus on the theme of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Future of the World, GYC2024 aimed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and global collaboration among youth participants. This year, GYC2024 received an overwhelming response with hundreds of complete submissions from talented youth worldwide. Participants were required to submit either a 500-word essay or a piece of artwork accompanied by a 4-minute speech video addressing the theme of AI and its implications for the future. After a rigorous evaluation process, 16 finalists were selected in the Senior Division (aged 16-18) and 10 finalists in the Junior Division (aged 13-15). These finalists demonstrated exceptional creativity, insight, and communication skills in their submissions. The culminating event of GYC2024 featured live final presentations, where finalists showcased their projects and engaged in dialogue with a panel of esteemed judges comprising professors and educators. The finalists delivered outstanding presentations, offering innovative solutions and thought-provoking perspectives on the role of AI in shaping the future of our world. Despite the challenging questions posed by the judges, all finalists exhibited commendable poise and knowledge. In the Senior Division, Zaynab Hussein, a 15-year-old participant from Ottawa, Canada, emerged as the first-place winner with her insightful analysis and articulate presentation. In the Junior Division, Brian Guo, aged 13, from British Columbia, Canada, captured the first-place position with his exceptional creativity and passion for the subject matter. These winners exemplify the spirit of GYC2024 and serve as inspiring role models for youth worldwide. The live final presentations of GYC2024 were met with enthusiastic attendance from participants, educators, and supporters worldwide.
