Seminar: How to Successfully Transition to a Multicultural Society - Speaker: Ben Yang
This lecture is aimed at middle school students and teachers. It addresses challenges and obstacles that students face in their transition to a new cultural, linguistic, and academic environment. The presenter will share a 5-stage development model of international students in Canada and provide valuable insights and practical guidance on how to successfully transition to a multicultural society. The objective of this lecture is not only to help students to achieve a greater understanding of other cultures, but also a deeper awareness of one’s own cultural values. It will inspire curiosity and courage for students to venture out of their comfort zone to collaborate and build meaningful friendship with individuals from backgrounds that are different from their own.
